Become a Host Family

Members of the Clinton and surrounding communities support our ABC program in a variety of ways.

One of the most enjoyable is serving as a host family. Each Sunday afternoon, Clinton ABC Scholars visit one of their two host families, who provide another home-away-from-home for our students. Scholars spend the afternoon doing whatever the family has planned: a hike in the Adirondacks, shopping at the mall, watching television, enjoying a family member’s soccer game, or going to the movies. Some even try skiing or snowboarding or visiting colleges. The day ends with a family dinner before the scholar returns to the ABC house for study hours. Often the relationships formed between the families and the ABC scholars last a lifetime.
